About TranscriptSnap

TranscriptSnap turns spoken audio into text. Paste a link to a public Instagram, TikTok or YouTube video, or upload an audio or video file from your device, and you get back a transcript with timestamps that you can copy or export as TXT, SRT or VTT.

Two ways to transcribe

Link mode fetches the audio from a public post and transcribes it on our server. It is free with a daily limit, and nothing is stored afterwards.

Upload mode is different: the speech model runs inside your own browser using WebAssembly. Your file is never uploaded anywhere. That makes it slower on the first run, while the model downloads and caches, but it is unlimited, works offline afterwards, and is safe for recordings you would not want to hand to a third party.

Why it is free

Upload mode costs us nothing to run, because the work happens on your device. Link mode is supported by ads and by an optional paid plan for people who need higher limits.
